The first step to any solid vacation is picking the right travel destination. We’re not talking about somewhere cliche like Hawaii or worst of all, a “Sandals” style resort in the Bahamas. We’re talking about that unique spot where someday in the near future you’ll look back on your adventure and sigh, “those were the best days of my life…” So, if you’re going to plan a proper getaway, do just that – GET AWAY.

After you pick a location for your upcoming summer adventure the next step is to book your flight. If you want to have the absolute ultimate escape heed our advice and book a one way ticket. Does that seem impossible? Impractical? Daunting?… Good, it means you’re doing the right thing. Challenge yourself to push the envelope and go outside your comfort zone. You can thank us later.

The best vacations are the ones that force you to go with the flow. So, instead of calling your local travel agent this time around, try instead to plan as little as possible. Ask a few friends who have been to the area what to do, where to eat, and where to party. Then when you get there do yourself a favor and get to know the locals. There’s absolutely nothing like a true locals experience.

Pack only the essentials. Long gone are the days of lugging around 3 suitcases full of useless shit you probably won’t even use on your stay. For some reason people are under the impression that no one else in the world makes clothes, toiletries, or other travel essentials. The crew at SOCIETY comes from the school of thought that no matter how long you plan to stay somewhere you should never have to pack more than a backpack full of goodies. If you forget something “essential” buy it when you get to your destination, or don’t. It’s okay to break out of your normal routine and live on the edge… We recommend a SOCIETY tee, a durable pair of jeans, boardshorts, and a pair of slip-on shoes.

Travel like the locals do. Don’t rent a fancy car or hire a taxi to drive you around. Get into the local mix of things and use the public transportation. Collectively our crew has traversed across over 30 countries, so trust us when we tell you that chances are the local transportation will blow you away with it’s efficiency, especially if you’re from the most transportation-retarded area on Earth – Southern California. Another amazing option is to buy a motorcycle or scooter when you get to your destination, ride it into the ground, and then sell it for cash before you leave. You only live once after all…

Follow the road less traveled, figuratively and literally… We’ve always found that the best adventures are always out of plain sight, so if you hear overhear a rumor from the local bartender about an exotic waterfall an hour hike along a sketchy jungle path we say GO FOR IT. Even if you don’t find exactly what you’re looking for the path will be enough of an adventure in and of itself.

Picking the right travel buddy is almost as important as the destination. If you’re afraid to travel alone then make sure you pick someone you can stand to be around for more than 24 hours straight. The ideal travel companion should be a fly by the seat of their pants kind of person – someone spontaneous, relaxed, and down for any and all adventures. Whether you’re planning to travel with your girlfriend/boyfriend, best friend, or a person you barely know just make sure you choose wisely because the wrong person can absolutely ruin the best time of your life.

For all of you guys out there the ultimate highlight of any mancation are the local girls. The amazing thing about going to a foreign city is that chances are you’ll know nobody going into it so you can be anyone you want while you’re there. If you’re the shy guy at home it’s time to challenge yourself to be someone new. Make a fool of yourself in front of every beautiful woman you see until you finally get it right. Trust us, it will be worth it…

The most important thing to remember when it comes to planning the ultimate getaway is to LIVE FREE. Take things as they come at you. Life is too amazing and we are too nearsighted to realize all of the amazing opportunities that are around us. Simply let life happen to you instead of trying to plan every little aspect of your trip.

Our dear friend and babe of the century, Kelli Hutcherson, loaned her amazing looks to the SOCIETY crew for a little bedroom shoot. Not only is Kelli one of the raddest chicks we know she’s also one of Maxim’s Top 100 girls of 2011. Yeah… good luck trying to score this chick guys.

2. This mansion… or yacht… or lifestyle…

This photo should make you almost as angry as watching an episode of Entourage because undoubtedly it projects a lifestyle that is beyond imagination or your grasp. There is very little that we wouldn’t do to switch lives with the lucky guy that owns this epic mansion/yacht combo. Have an extra £50 million laying around? Yeah, we thought not… Damien Hirst shattered the norm yet again with this ridiculous piece of art that is estimated to have over £14 million in diamonds alone. Want to buy love and happiness? Cough up the dough and put this on your nightstand so every morning you open your eyes and the first thing you see is £50 million worth of diamonds staring you in the face. Congratulations you are better than everyone else on Earth.

4. Any of these super cars

If you’ve got an extra million to drop on a car then you have absolutely made it. Chances are 99.99999999999% of you reading this don’t, so to rub in how mediocre your life is we’ve put together a few of our favorite cars priced over $1 million. There are plenty of mega yachts in all shapes and sizes roaming the high seas from Newport Beach to Monte Carlo, but our favorite by far is this beauty – SNOWBIRD. It’s the perfect size, exquisitely decorated, and the obvious… it’s a f*cking mega yacht. We’ve calculated how many pieces of SOCIETY clothing we’ll have to sell to buy this caliber of yacht, and let’s just say we’re going to need each and every one of you reading this to purchase at least 1,000 units, like right now. We promise we’ll take every one of you out on the SOCIETY yacht when the day comes, yes.

Yep, that’s right. Chances are pretty damn high that you will never have a pet tiger because A. you’re not Mike Tyson in the hangover, and B. you aren’t royalty from Abu Dhabi. Take a second to think of all the amazing things you could do with a pet as awesome as a tiger… Take it for a walk, scare the neighborhood kids during Halloween, or throw your lady on it’s back with a cowboy hat on…yep… the fun is limitless.
